95th Pennsylvania Infantry
Gosline's Zouaves 1861-1862
This painting illustrates the uniform of the 95th Pennsylvania infantry as they appeared in the winter period between 1861 and 1862. This regiment was issued Dark blue chasseur styled trousers as their first procurement of their uniform. The regiment was then issued federal kersey blue trousers in subsequent issues. Photographic evidence shows that Dark blue trousers with a red stripe down the side in use. Also in evidence was the use of Austrian Lorenz rifles.
