Description of Artwork: This painting shows a group of soldiers from George Washington's Continental Army as they march through the snow making their way to their winter encampment at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania (early winter of 1777) during the American Revolutionary War. This artwork is painted linen canvas that is mounted onto wood bars. This Particular artwork emphasized how the soldiers marched in with their families. Also known as Camp Followers.
