Description of Artwork: A soldier of George Washington's Continental Army (USA) chopping a log with a camp axe that will be used to build a hut at the Valley Forge encampment (Winter of 1777-1778) during the American Revolutionary War. This artwork is painted on Centurian oil primed linen canvas board that is mounted onto a board. Artwork is signed and dated by the artist in the lower right corner. This artwork was custom commissioned for the Valley Forge National Park as an illustration for their newly renovated museum. Digital artwork scanned from the original paintings were provided to the park upon their request to reproduce for their public museum displays.
