Here we have a beautifully detailed illustration of a soldier of the 107th Pennsylvania infantry regiment as he would have appeared during the Fall of 1862. By the fall of 1862, the regiment's clothing was in poor condition due to supply problems. Ultimately they were issued New York State shell jackets and commented in period writing as to the oddity of how the men appeared in these jackets. The 107th was one of the units in the union army to be issued the Austrian Lorenz Rifle.
